Operation Rainbow

In March of 2007 Dr. Rai went with a team to Ludhiana in India to operate on children with cleft lip and palate deformities. The Operation Rainbow team successfully operated on 120 patients.

Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons

In June of 2007 Dr. Rai went to Banff and presented a paper entitled “The Perfect Umbilicus” at the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery annual meeting. Also he discussed the issues of having resident doctors on a medical mission.

American Association of Plastic Surgery

Dr. Rai attended the American Association of Plastic Surgery meeting in Boston on April 2nd – 6, 2008. There was a course on facial rejuvenation, liposuction, abdominoplasties, breast augmentation and breast lift procedures. The newer techniques and updates were all discussed and new ideas were assimilated. More liposculpting procedures are being considered for the face and body as well for the breast.

Where the face is concerned eyelid procedures and facelift procedures were all reviewed and the newer techniques were all presented and discussed. It was an excellent learning program.

Where the abdomen and body were concerned, body contouring surgeries such as liposuction were discussed. Newer techniques of breast surgery were all discussed.

Overall it was an excellent program and a great learning opportunity.
