Welcome to the Rai Clinic and the practice of internationally recognized plastic surgeon Dr. Kimit Rai, FRCS(C).

Dr. Rai is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and has been B.C. Board Certified in Plastic Surgery since 1975. He has also been American Board Certified in Plastic Surgery since 1977. Dr. Rai is a member of the following organizations:

- Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Association of Plastic Surgeons
- International Society of Plastic Surgeons
From 1989 to 1999, Dr. Rai was Chief of Surgery for the Simon Fraser Health Region, as well as the Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery from 1983 to 1999. He is also the past president of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Rai is frequently asked to speak at educational symposiums and his work has been published extensively. He is proud to be actively involved in Operation Rainbow Canada, which Dr. Rai founded in 1998 as a non-profit medical organization of physicians who donate their services to undeveloped third world countries. The organization has helped nearly 1,800 children in Cambodia, India, Lebanon, Mexico and the Philippines, providing them with reconstructive cleft-lip and cleft-palate surgery. Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Dr. Rai is married with two grown children and is an avid runner.

Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery Conference
Dr. Rai attended the conference of the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery in Calgary which was the week-end of September 16 – 18th, 2011.
The conference was well attended. The discussions were mostly related to breast surgery and the different techniques of breastlift and breast augmentation. Dr. Rai also presented a paper on breast augmentation at the same conference. This was a very successful event with a good exchange of ideas.
On September 18th, Dr. Rai attended a dinner awards ceremony at the River Rock Casino. This was organized by the Asian Heroes Foundation. They had selected seven people to be Asian Heroes and Dr. Rai was one of them. He was honored by the Asian Heroes Foundation for the surgery that he has performed on children overseas with cleft lip and palate deformities for the past 18 years.
This event was very successfully received and the recipients were congratulated for the work that they have done. Dr. Rai received a plaque thanking him for the work that he has done in cleft lip and palate repair and was acknowledged to be one of the Heroes of Asia.
