| Dr. Rai's practice news updates

Dr. Rai is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, B.C. Board
Certified in Plastic Surgery 1975, he became American Board Certified in
1977.
Dr. Rai was Chief of Surgery for the Simon Fraser Health Region from
1989-1999 and Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery from 1983-1999.
He is past president of The Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the
Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is frequently asked to present
at educational symposiums and his work has been published extensively.
Dr. Rai is a member of the:
- Canadian Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery
- Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Rai was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is married
with two grown
children. He is an avid runner. Dr. Rai is actively involved with Operation
Rainbow Canada, a non-profit organization of physicians who donate their services to undeveloped Third World Countries. His expertise in cleft lip repair and palate repair has benefited people in the Cambodia, India, Lebanon, Mexico, and the Philippines.
